The T-26 is the first tank to be mass-equipped by the Soviet army.
Under conditions of having a very weak industrial base, the Soviet Union introduced a small number of British "Vickers" tanks as a model, improved upon its design, and finalized it in 1931, before equipping the Soviet Red Army in 1932.
Both the T-26 light tank and the BT-7 fast tank were the main armament of the Soviet Red Army's tank units in the early period.
