A gear pump is a rotary pump that relies on the changes in volume and movement between the pump chamber and meshing gears to transport liquid or boost its pressure. It consists of two gears, a pump body, and front and rear covers, forming two enclosed spaces. As the gears rotate, the volume of the space where the gears disengage increases, creating a vacuum that draws in the liquid. Meanwhile, the volume of the space on the gear meshing side decreases, pushing the liquid into the pipeline. The suction chamber and discharge chamber are separated by the gear meshing line. The pressure at the outlet of the gear pump entirely depends on the resistance at the pump outlet.
