Two-axis transmission star engine 3D model. When the engine is transversely mounted, because the output shaft of the transmission is parallel to the axis of the drive axle, the main reducer uses a pair of cylindrical helical gears, as seen in vehicles like the Xiali and Jetta cars. It has five forward gears and one reverse gear, with all gear shifts using synchronizers. Solidworks 2012 source files are shared and come with editable parameters.
