The robot's head uses a camera as its eyes, a wireless microphone as its ears, and a speaker as its mouth. It is controlled by two computers; the head computer uses an embedded computer, installed inside the robot's head, for Chinese voice synthesis, image acquisition, and image processing. The other main computer is installed outside the robot's head on a central control console for Chinese voice recognition and external information exchange. The head computer and the main computer are connected via a wireless local area network (WLAN).
