The primary function of a benchtop laboratory fume hood is exhaust. In a chemistry laboratory, various harmful gases, odors, moisture, as well as flammable, explosive, and corrosive substances are produced during experiments. To ensure the user's safety and prevent pollutants from spreading throughout the laboratory, fume hoods should be used near the source of contamination.
