The coconut picking machine is a device that combines the functions of climbing trees and picking coconuts. It mainly consists of three parts: the gripping mechanism, the climbing mechanism, and the picking mechanism. The gripping mechanism serves to secure the machine on the trunk; it is equipped with two rows of sliding rods on the inside. These rods are installed at a specific angle to help reduce resistance when climbing or turning. The climbing mechanism is equipped with four climbing rods, each with a motor on one end for driving and a semicircular fastening device with an electromagnet or ferromagnetic material on the other end. By controlling the current, the strength of the electromagnet's magnetism can be adjusted, allowing it to attract and grip the trunk firmly. After this, the motor drives the climbing rods to ascend, altering the traditional tree-climbing approach of robots. Additionally, considering the varying diameters of tree trunks, pressure plates with sensors are set inside the semicircular fastening device to further secure the trunk and prevent slipping. The outside of the semicircular fastening device is equipped with sliding rails, which address the issue of direction change.
