After the silk reeling, the cocoons slide into a water pool, where they can be salvaged periodically. Water circulation is maintained by a pump that draws water from the pool and returns it through a return pipe, allowing for recycling. The water in the pool is changed regularly based on production conditions, generally after every 100 kg of raw silk is reeled.
