The lamination process involves a polyester film coated with hot melt adhesive, which bonds the item being laminated within the plastic film through the processing of a laminating machine. Since the process is performed under certain pressure and high temperature, and utilizes high-quality polyester film and a hot melt adhesive with excellent clarity, it not only ensures that the laminated item is protected at room temperature but also enhances the visual effect of the item. In this process, the technical performance of the laminating machine is a key factor in ensuring the quality of lamination.

There are two types: thermoplastic and cold plastic:

Thermoplastic uses a multi-stage temperature control and rolling heating method to generate high temperature for shaping the lamination film and document pages.
Cold plastic uses lamination films with adhesive or magnetic properties to shape the lamination film and document pages without the need for heating. It is also called a lamination and coating machine, plastic laminator, laminating machine, or film laminator.
