In our country, agricultural biomass resources such as forage and straw are very abundant. However, during their commercialization process, the first issue encountered is that these materials are loose, have low volume density, and are difficult to collect and transport. Whether during storage or transportation, these materials occupy a large amount of space, facing severe transportation cost pressure [1]. Compressing and baling the forage before transport can effectively reduce transportation costs and save forage storage space. On the other hand, due to manual harvesting, which results in low work efficiency, high operational costs, and significant labor intensity, the emerging green forage planting industry urgently needs economical and practical small green forage balers. Therefore, the research, development, and promotion of various green forage pick-up and baling machines suitable for application in China’s agricultural and pastoral areas, as well as improving the performance of the machinery, is of great significance to the continuous development of modern forage engineering and the mechanization of green forage harvesting. It is also an important topic in the research of green forage harvesting processes and machinery systems.
