A paper shredder consists of a set of rotating blades, a paper comb, and a driving motor. Paper is fed between interlocking blades and is cut into many small pieces to achieve confidentiality. The shredding method refers to the shape that the paper takes after being cut by the shredder’s blades. Based on the arrangement of the cutting blades, current shredding methods include: fragment, particle, strip, foam, strip-like, and filamentous.
Modern shredders, in addition to handling paper, can also cut credit cards, CDs, and more.
